Persistence

Persistence. When I think of persistence I think of facing a set-back but learning from that mistake and moving forward. Persistence tells me to move forward and pass through all of the barriers. Since I am at a school where we do a lot of projects, students get frustrated which can lead to inefficiency. I feel that persistence teaches all of us how to overcome this and work through the struggle. In school, I was having trouble figuring out how to use a tool on a 3D modeling software called MAYA; but after trying different strategies, I solved my problem. I later started to notice that I was using similar skills in extra-curricular activities that I participated in. In Cross Country, I was one of the last ones to finish the lap, at the start of the season. By the end of the season, I had cut down my two-mile time by 9 minutes by not giving up. By doing multiple projects at STEM, I developed the skill of how to persist through challenges in different activities.

Even though I was the slowest on my Cross Country team, I still stayed persistent and set personal goals to end the season to become a better Cross Country runner.
